Our Jetty

The pale sun soaked boards smoothed soft by the feet of many memories

begin to thrum a steady beat under me and my splashing toes

louder and louder until his leap and whooping dive drenches me

blue crystal mirror

circled by cricket laughter

filled with white swan clouds

promising summer pleasure

beckoning with winking waves

  1. I love Your Jetty and this is a wonderful write on both counts.

  2. Two very descriptive poems, and yet you've managed to keep them to 55 words all together! I think the story flow needed the order to be reversed, but it's still nice!

  3. Thanks, I have a thing for jetties. Love the feel of the wood combined with the smell of the water.

I'm not in just now, but you're welcome to stay a while and doodle me a note. Make yourself a cuppa if you like, otherwise there's some beer in the fridge, and probably some left-over chocolate cake. No pinching my turkish delight though, and whatever you do, don't feed the cat, she's completely loony.
